I would like to make a correction if I may?! regarding Mr. Shamlou's operation in this paragraph: "Semoropoplytieal by-pass grafting as treatment of a gangrenous foot. 2. Through-knee amputation of the right leg." This should read "Femoropopliteal" arterial bypass graft. and the usuall operation done for failed graft,is "below knee amputation", or sometimes above knee amputation. there is no such a thing as through knee amputation. But unfortunately I am not going to discuss about Shamlu's web site today but as a mater of fact I needed some help regarding the translation of the line which says; "MAN DARDE MOSHTAREKAM, MARA FARYAD KON". This is a title for one of my paintings in my Art Exhibition which is going on in the West Vancouver Memorial Library Gallery in Vancouver(March 8th to April 3rd). On the 5th of June, the Stig DAgerman Award was given to Shamloo. His friend and translator Azar Mahloujian represented him and the day in Laxön, Älvkarleby, was filled with the poetry om Shamloo and Persian traditional texts. The motivation for the award: The Stig Dagerman Award 1999 to Ahmad Shamloo because he in his poetry and his prose is touching the heart of the World. Our "The Stig Daerman Society" published a book - om jag vore vatten (if I were water) - with 25 poems by Shamlu to this day, translated by Azar Mahloujian and Carin Leche. I saw that you have translations of Shamlou in several languages. Did you know that he is also translated in French? His book has been published by "la différence" an important poetry publisher in france and you can find the book in Pocket format. The name of the collection is "Orphée" I had the book and lost it.
